I may have saved a life today. Two people told the news guy I was a hero. That struck me as funny. I am not heroic. In fact I tend to take the path of least resistance. Today was a spastic reaction to weird set of circumstances that could have gone either way. With the fourth coming it got me thinking about the nature of real heroism. So I am writing about a few of my heroes and I'd like to read about yours?

I've spent the last two years working on systems to mitigate the effects of IE  more...

I have seen "Love" and it doesn't have any sex or money attached to it. No personal point or gain at all - only loving that person.

Love is its own reward.

OOPS!!! Getting sentimental. Showing my Sense and Sensability. get back to Caustic Biting Ball Whipping Wit.

Like your profile. you take the PS too. Any takers?

My Hero's consist of My family. There is not one person in it that is not a hero in some way. There are many people in my life that are also hero's to me for the way they live or things they have done.
My son's for serving the USA.
Look around there are heros every where!

Of course my son. Enlisting during a time we were at war.
My other 2 children for their determination and the obstacles they have overcome.
My mother for her battle with mental illness and my father of his 50+ years of sobriety.
Other than that....every other human being who walks the face of this earth for just trying to live their life the best they can.

I think of heros everyday who give up their lives and their freedom and independence to commit themselves to another. Even taking the spite and frustration and no respect of the other. Gaining no reward.

Mothers - of course. Often not seen or heard despite being tne centre hub of everything that works well in the home.

Partners who give their life to look after someone with a debilitating long term illness. 24/7 no time off. No personal life anymore no socila life.

That is love and hero  more...

Who ever the true author of this story is would be a hero in my eyes.
This is a lovely story.
Emotionally impacting,heart rendering,and touching.
It made me think of all the heros I have known in my life time.
It made me cry.
Difficult to believe it's yours.
Even more difficult to believe that you have heart enough to express such deep emotions, or ability to see the good and beauty in others, without being as self absorbed in yourself and as judgemental of others as you are.
Did you rece  more...
