fact is...
I got too much chit to carry..(a week camping)
I can afford the gas...
but the ol' girl is a leaker..could I afford the oil??
and reliability too...
'she's' not even on the road...(soon as the new tires and brakes are done..)
can't use the excuse..I'm too old..there   more...

hi that sounds like a pretty cool job. I've read more from people doing the same as you.
seems to be quite the option.
hope if I ever have to go get a bo  more...

Sounds like a man who has been there, done that! No offense to the "iron butt" crowd, but beating yourself up riding your bike long distances is a bit on the down side if there really is no...

I can drive the trip in 9-10 hours..and ride in about 10- 12.
and even that wouldn't be soooo bad.
but then I started thinking...what about AFTER sleeping on the ground for almost a week...
probably take me 2 days to get home!  more...

last year about aweek before we were to leave for Sturgis, my wife started having 2nd thoughts about that far for her. I'd ridden all my life, but 1st year she'd done any. And 2-300miles was her most in a day. So I loaded extra camping stuff in the truck and trailered bike. It stormed most of the way there, and almost every evening. One night has 100 mph winds. Glad I had the better tent. We still rode almost 2000 miles that week. I doubt myself as a poser. Maybe just getting wiser.

I don't see anything wrong with trailering a bike at times. I work 180 miles from home(and I live miles from anywhere). I stay there 3-4 days a week. So, I often trailer my bike with me so I can ride after work. I also have trailered it to rallies when I know I will leave there and head directly to work. I don't care what others think about it.

As it was pointed out in the movie WildHogs......maybe the "posers" are those who have forgotten what it is all about, the ride, the friend  more...
